Rainey Rawles is a Knoxville-based artist, designer, and fabricator. She is a principal of Curio, a design + build studio founded in 2026 with Daniel Clay, where she works from concept through fabrication to create custom interiors, furniture and built elements for homes, businesses, and public spaces. Prior to Curio, she founded Naughty Pine Woodworks, an independent furniture design and fabrication business through which she developed custom furniture and casework for a range of clients throughout East Tennessee. Her path to entrepreneurship has been circuitous, shaped by a background in museum exhibition design, art handling, woodworking, fabrication, and higher education, with past positions at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the University of Tennessee. As an artist, her work has been featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, Mason Fine Art, Arrowmont Gallery, Kibbee Gallery, and in OZ Magazine. She received a BFA in Drawing and Painting from Kennesaw State University, if you can actually believe it.
